Lila is seated. Folded into herself, quiet, at rest. The marks are minimal - just enough to find her.

I painted her first in white, then returned with warm flesh tones that settle into the weave. The clear gesso keeps the warmth of the linen showing through, so the canvas becomes part of her. Skin and linen feel like they belong together - natural ground, natural form.
